"Where the world comes together!"
LSC Meetings second Tuesday, monthly at 6:30 p.m. in library Important links: |
Welcome Beaubien is a Chicago Public School serving the Jefferson Park Community on the Northwest side of Chicago. Our programs include preschool, special education, bilingual education, regular K-8, a regional gifted center, after school programs and summer enrichment. Our Beaubien family has a diverse population giving the opportunity for us to grow together. It is estimated that 60%+ of the student population has a working knowledge of a second language. Our Principal, Chris Kotis, is a Greek immigrant and he graduated from Beaubien in June 1968! The school was named after Jean Baptiste Beaubien, one of the original founding fathers of Chicago. In 2005 we celebrated 100 years of educating Chicago's youth. We are ranked among the top elementary schools in Chicago, and have been over the last 10 years. We won the City championship in the CPS Academic Bowl 1992/2002/2004 and won second place, Area 1, in 2005. The school has had three additions in the past 100 years. In the last six years we completed renovation of our building and added an annex for the primary grades. A beautiful garden also has been added to the Laramie side of the property thanks to the extensive efforts of Beaubien volunteers. Our normal school hours are 8:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. Jean Baptiste
